I’m Grace Cain, a ceramic artist based in Catskill, NY. I’ve been working with clay since 2018, creating handmade pottery that focuses on classic forms, bold patterns, and a mostly black-and-white palette.
I’m drawn to strong contrast and graphic surface design, and I love letting subtle variations from the making process show through. Every piece is made by hand in my studio, which means no two are exactly alike. My goal is to make work that is both functional and visually striking—pieces you’ll actually use, not just look at.
Teaching is also a big part of my practice. I teach at community studios throughout the Hudson Valley, and I love sharing what I’ve learned and connecting with other clay folks along the way.
